UAE official bodies informed about Khojaly tragedy (PHOTO)

The official bodies of the United Arab Emirates were informed about the Khojaly tragedy.

The head of the Azerbaijani society, operating in the emirate of Dubai, Samir Imanov, met with Minister Hamad bin Al Sheikh Ahmed Al Shaibani on the eve of the 19 th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide. Other senior officials from the ministry attended the event. They were informed of the Karabakh conflict, its terrible, tragic consequences. It was noted that the Khojaly genocide is one of the biggest crimes of the century.

The officials from the UAE were also informed about today's rapid economic development of Azerbaijan, its place and role in world energy security, international energy projects, as well as the growing authority in the international arena.

The Armenian military forces committed genocide in Khojaly on Feb. 26, 1992. More than 600 people were killed, including 63 children, 106 women and 70 old men. A total of 1,000 civilians were disabled during the genocide. Eight families were annihilated, 130 children lost one parent, and 25 lost both. Additionally, 1,275 peaceful residents were taken hostage, while the fate of 150 remains unknown.
