Russia assists during the antiterrorist operation in Syria as part of the international law, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said during a meeting with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Moscow, RIA Novosti reported.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu also attended the talks from the Russian side.
"First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to the entire leadership of Russia and Russian people for the assistance rendered to Syria," he said. "They stand for the unity of Syria and its independence. The most important thing is that all this is done as part of the international legislation."
