Azerbaijani athlete Jamaleddin Magomadov entered the 1/8 finals in wrestling competitions as part of the first European Games in Baku June 18.
Magomadov (125 kg) defeated Lithuanian Jonas Rudavičius with a score of 10:0 in the 1/16 finals and gained early victory.
Magomadov will compete with Turkish athlete Taha Akgul in the 1/8 finals.
The last day of the wrestling competitions among men kicked off as part of the first European Games in Baku June 18. The winners will be determined in the weight categories of 70, 86 and 125 kilograms.

Azerbaijani athletes won two sets of medals: Rasul Chunaev (up to 71 kg) and Elvin Mursaliyev (75 kg) - gold, Rafig Huseynov (80 kg) and Sabah Shariati (up to 130 kg) - silver, Elman Mukhtarov (59 kg) and Hasan Aliyev (66 kg) - bronze medals at the Greco-Roman wrestling competitions among men as part of the first European Games in Baku.
Azerbaijani female athletes won two gold medals and one bronze medal at the wrestling competitions among women as part of the first European Games in Baku. Mariya Stadnyk (48 kg) and Angela Dorogan (53 kg) won gold, Natalia Sinishin (55 kg) - bronze.
Azerbaijan won two gold medals and one bronze medal on the first day of wrestling competitions among men. Togrul Asgarov (65 kg) and Khetag Gazyumov (97 kg) won gold, Jabrail Hasanov (74 kg) - bronze.
The European Games that kicked off in Baku June 12, will last till June 28.
There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
