Azerbaijan's geo-strategic role and energy security will be debated during events to be held in New York, Washington and California.
The head of Azerbaijan's Center for Strategic Research (CSR) Elkhan Nuriyev will speak at the first session of an international forum titled 'Preventing and Managing Conflict Situations in the Investment Relations in the Sphere of Energy and Other Natural Resources' to be held on May 12-13 at the Center of Energy Policy and Public Relations at Columbia University New York, the CSR said.
On May 15, Nuriyev will deliver a speech at the American Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, where a round table on Contemporary Geopolitics of Azerbaijan: Energy Security and Foreign Policy Strategy will take place.
Nuriyev will also participate in another round table on 'Azerbaijan's Strategic choice: a Course on Modernization and Pragmatic Foreign Policy' which will be held at the U.S. Brookings Institute on May 18.
At the end of his visit to the U.S. Nuriyev will speak at the forum Azerbaijan's Geo-Strategic Role in the South Caucasus and the Caspian Basin to be held at Stanford University in California.
Broad exchange of views on the contemporary geopolitical role of Azerbaijan in regional and international policies in the field of energy security, including an analysis of regional and international issues of mutual interest will be held during the meeting.
The meetings with the leaders of the U.S. think tanks will focus on projects of regional significance, relating to research cooperation between analytic institutes of both countries.
