Military delegations of Ukraine and Azerbaijan visited Belarus to attend the 5th International exhibition of armament and military equipment MILEX-2009, the Belarus Defence Ministry press service told BELTA.
The day before, Defence Minister of Belarus Colonel-General Leonid Maltsev and Ukrainian Defence Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov met to discuss the results of implemented arrangements of bilateral military cooperation between the two countries, as well as prospects of further development. The interaction in the sphere of peaceful operations, engineering troops, military education, improvement of military personnel and their families were the subject of discussions.
Leonid Maltsev and Yuriy Yekhanurov signed an agreement between the Ministry of Defense of Belarus and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on the exchange of information on flights of aircraft, as well as the situation on information exchange.
Signing of the document provides an impetus for military cooperation between the two countries and established a whole new range of collaborative activities in the military sphere.
Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, First Deputy Defense Minister of Belarus Lieutenant-General Sergei Gurulev has met with Head of the Azerbaijani military delegation, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, First Deputy Minister of Defense General-Colonel Najmaddin Sadikhov.
