The Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Lithuanian embassy in Azerbaijan have signed today a Memorandum of Understanding on humanitarian cooperation, AzerTAj state news agency reported.

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Lithuanian embassy in Azerbaijan have signed today a Memorandum of Understanding on humanitarian cooperation, AzerTAj state news agency reported.

The document was signed by Azerbaijan's first lady, president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva and Lithuanian ambassador Kestutis Kudzmanas.

Following the signing ceremony, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva had a conversation with the Lithuanian ambassador, during which she underlined the importance of the document featuring cooperation in cultural, education, healthcare and legal spheres.

Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva expressed hope the document would contribute to carrying out joint projects in the future. She also noted the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was ready for cooperation in this direction.

Ambassador Kudzmanas, in turn, praised the projects carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The diplomat pointed out the document signed today would open new opportunities for the Azerbaijani youth. So, he added, in accordance with the document, 20 Azerbaijani youngsters would get opportunity to get tuition free education in Lithuania-based leading universities.
