Georgia, Tbilisi, Dec. 7 / Trend N. Kirtskhalia /
Georgia was able to avoid serious danger, Georgian Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili said today, while commenting on the detention of a terrorist group.
Today, the Interior Ministry announced the arrest of six terrorists who organized several terror acts in Georgia upon the order of a Russian intelligence officer, including blasts in front of the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi and the Labor Party's office in Tbilisi.
"The danger was real, as some of the seized bombs would have been used against already defined, concrete individuals and the situation could have gotten worse," he said.
Merabishvili thanked the police officers who took part in the detention of the terrorists.
"I am glad that our police can quickly uncover terrorist attacks," Merabishvili said.
