On 26 January, the Chairman of Milli Majlis [Azerbaijani Parliament], Oktay Asadov, received the Ambassador of Pakistan to Azerbaijan, Javid Gureyshi. The Ambassador delivered the letter of the Chairman of the Pakistani Parliament to Asadov, Trend reports. The diplomat stressed that Chairman of the Pakistani Parliament expressed his gratitude to Asadov for the invitation to visit Azerbaijan. The Ambassador said that the invitation was accepted with satisfaction.
Gureyshi underlined that the relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan are developing rapidly. He said that the meeting of the Intergovernmental Economic Commission will take place in Pakistan in the near future.
Touching up on the inter-parliamentary relations, the Ambassador said that the mutual visits promote them.
Asadov said that the Azerbaijani-Pakistani relations are at the high level. He stressed that both countries support each other at the international level.
Asadov underlined that Pakistan has always supported the fair position of Azerbaijan in Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and has not established any diplomatic relations with occupant Armenia.
He said that strengthening the inter-parliamentary relations is on the focus of attention and the visit of the Pakistani colleague to Azerbaijan will be beneficial.
