Journalists covering youth issues awarded in Azerbaijan

The Azerbaijani Young Leaders organization presented awards to journalists writing about youth issues. 

The organization announced the winners of the competition held from Jan. 15 to Feb. 15 at the Trend conference hall on Feb. 18. 

Young Leaders Chairman Farida Shahbazova said the competition aimed to attract society's attention to children and protecting their human rights.

The competition included topics such as "Nagorno-Karabakh Through the Eyes of Children," "Significance of Children's Television," "Children's Parliaments," "Homeless Children," "Teacher-Student Relations," "Children and Traffic Safety" and "Children and Internet Safety."  

Journalists submitted 13 materials to the competition. The majority covered the first three above topics.

The articles and television footage were evaluated by a jury including the editors-in-chief of Khalg Jebhesi newspaper Elchin Mirzabayli, Uch Nogta newspaper Khoshgadam Bakhshaliyev, Olaylar newspaper Yunus Oguz, Sherg newspaper Akif Ashrli and 525-ci Gazet newspaper Rashad Madjid.     

Public Television station journalist Nijat Gafuroglu won first place in the TV Footage category.

AZTV journalist Ruslan Hasanli won second place.

Uch Nogta newspaper journalist Khalid Vahidoglu won first place in the Article category. 525-ci Gazet newspaper journalist Parvana Sultanova took second place. Khalg Jebhesi newspaper journalist Nuran Tofigli won third place.
