The Azeri side did not accept Tbilisi`s offer on exchanging some border areas to David Gareji monastery complex . According to the Center of Kakheti,a georgian NGO, the Georgian side proposed to Azerbaijan to move the border south of the Mount Udabno, but the Azeri side did not accept the proposal.
David Gareji is the main reason delaying the demarcation, delimitation work of the Georgian-Azerbaijani border.
Unique monastery complex David Gareji stretched for 25 kilometers in the semi-desert landscape mountains Gareji.
The Georgian side considers this monastic complex as its religious monuments, and Azerbaijani side regards it as the monument of Albanian culture, part of azeri culture.
