Azerbaijani Ombudsman appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office for objectively investigating the case of Jabbar Savalanli.

Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office for verifying the facts indicated in the complaint of Jabbar Savalanli's mother, taking necessary measures and report on the results, the press-service of the Ombudsman told Trend.  

Resident of Sumgayit city T. Aliyeva appealed to the Azerbaijani Commissioner for Human Rights Elmira Suleymanova and said that the criminal case which had been filed against her son Jabbar Savalanli, was groundless.

According to the Ombudsperson's order, the employees of her office went to investigation isolator No. 3 of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice in Shuvelan, where Savalanli was detained, met with him face to face.

Savalanli said that he was detained by the employees of Sumgayit CPD, said that he was not exposed to the violence and cruel treatment during his arrest and isolation. At the same time, he said that he was exposed to psychological coercion for admitting his guilt in that police department.

However, he said, during preliminary interrogation at police station, psychological pressure was put on him for recognition of a criminal act.

No signs of injury were found in his body during body examination.
