BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 5. Over 15,000 mines were found and neutralized from November 10, 2020 [when the second Karabakh war ended] through April 2022 in Azerbaijani territories liberated from Armenian occupation [in the war], Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) told Trend.
According to the agency, in particular, 11,009 antipersonnel and 5,444 anti-tank mines, as well as 15,020 unexploded ordnances were found and neutralized in Tartar, Aghdam, Fuzuli, Shusha, Gubadli, Jabrayil, and Zangilan districts.
Totally, a 9,568-hectare-area was cleared of mines and unexploded ordnances in the liberated territories added to the agency.
