McDonald's will
build 10 fast food restaurants in Georgia in the near future, Georgia
McDonald's shareholder and Coca Cola Bottlers Georgia President Temur Chkoniya
said on Feb. 5.
Chkoniya made the statement at a McDonald's in Saburtalo at a celebration of
the 10th anniversary of the first McDonald's in Georgia. Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava was in
attendance.
"We will invest $25 million in building the new restaurants as each costs $2.5 million. We are not afraid of the number 13. There will be 13 McDonald's restaurants in Georgia," Chkoniya said.
McDonald's has invested $16 million in Georgia so far, Chkoniya said.
Ugulava said McDonald's is an example of a successful business in Georgia.
"That was one of the first major investments in Georgia. In 10 years,
McDonald's has not regretted investing in Georgia," Ugulava said.
