"For eight months of this year (in Iran year begins on March 21), Iranian -Chinese turnover increased by 20 percent to $ 23 billion. According to forecast for March 2011 it will increase to $ 28 billion. For the first 10 months of 2010 Iranian goods' export to China increased by 35 percent," President of Iranian - Chinese Joint Chamber of Commerce Asadollah Asgaroladi said, ISNA reported.
Earlier, Asgaroladi predicted that the annual trade turnover between the two countries will reach $50 billion in the next 5 years.
Asgaroladi pointed out that the west's sanctions against Iran were of no avail and the Chamber has accomplished excelling trade between the two countries despite them, Mehr News Agency reported.
He added that Iranian -Chinese trade turnover cost $3.5 billion ten years ago and has currently reached almost $30 billion through the ardent endeavors of the Iranian -Chinese Joint Chamber of Commerce.
Asgaroladi highlighted "joint ventures" in various fields including the hospitality of industry and transportation as two out of numerous ways to increase business between the two friendly nations.
Earlier, the Iranian Customs Administration head Ardeshir Mohammadi said that China was the main importer of the Iranian products with a total import cost of $3.094 billion, which is about 18 percent of the non-oil exports.
