GDP rate to increase by over 3.5 times in Baku by 2035

The GDP rate will increase by more than 3.5 times in Baku, Azerbaijan by 2035.

This is stipulated in the plan on using and zoning the territory of Baku, which was presented Dec. 22.

According to the plan, Baku’s GDP rate will increase from 47.27 billion manats up to 170 billion manats.

GDP per capita will increase by 2.5 times from 16,949 manats to 43,464 manats.

According to the plan, 40 percent of GDP (68 billion manats) will be formed in the industry, 20 percent (34 billion manats) - in the service sector, 18 percent (30.6 billion manats) - in the construction, and the remaining 22 percent (37.4 billion manats) - in other spheres by 2035.

According to the plan, Baku and Absheron will be divided into nine zones - southern, northern, eastern, central, and five peripheral zones. Each zone will have its own center. The plan covers a 248,000 hectare-area.
