BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 18. Iranian banks issued loans worth 158 trillion rials (about $3.77 billion) in the housing and construction sector in the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 20, 2024), the statistics of Iran's Central Bank said, Trend reports.
According to the statistics, loans worth 88.9 trillion rials (about $2.12 billion) were issued for construction works in the housing and construction sector during the mentioned period.
The statistics indicated that Iranian banks extended loans worth 48.8 trillion rials (about $1.16 billion) as working capital in the housing and construction sector in the first month.
The information notes that in the specified month, loans were provided for 17.3 trillion rials (about $413 million) for the purchase of houses in the housing and construction sector and 3 trillion rials (about $71.6 million) for improvement works.
Besides, the stats add that during the first month, Iranian banks issued 160 billion rials (about $3.8 million) worth of loans for renovation works in the housing and construction sector and 62 billion rials (about $1.47 million) for self-employment.
To note, Iranian banks issued loans worth 2.05 quadrillion rials (about $48.9 billion) during the first month of the current year.
