BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 18. Iran's Gachsaran Oil and Gas Production Company will harvest 12 million cubic feet (about 340,000 cubic meters) of flared gas, executive director of Iran's Gachsaran Oil and Gas Production Company Gholam Reza Kamali said, Trend reports.
According to him, the company collects about 6 million cubic feet (about 170,000 cubic meters) of flare gas daily. Meanwhile, one electric compressor is in operation.
Kamali noted that with the commissioning of two more electric compressors, the volume of flare gas collected will double.
The official stated that the company's specialists continue to work on the commissioning of electric compressors. Besides preventing environmental pollution, flare gas collection also generates income.
Additionally, it should be noted that about 50 million cubic meters of flare gas are flared daily in Iran. Iran presently harvests more than 20 million cubic meters of flare gas daily.
To note, Iran's flare gases will be fully harvested by March 20, 2026, and the country's revenue from flare gas harvesting will amount to $2 billion.
