ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 17. The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Russia in physical terms increased by 13 percent over the past year, Trend reports.
According to an official source, this was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin during a meeting with Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Kazan city.
Khusnullin noted that during the specified period, the trade turnover between the two countries in physical terms amounted to over 678 million tons.
He added that during the corresponding period, Russia's exports to Turkmenistan increased by 11 percent to 542 million tons and imports by 22 percent to 136 million tons.
"Our countries are actively working to strengthen bilateral relations in many areas. I thank the leadership of Turkmenistan for strengthening friendly relations between our countries," Marat Khusnullin said.
Meanwhile, economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia is developing, marked by important steps towards mutual benefit.
The two countries actively cooperate in the fields of trade, energy, and infrastructure projects, which further strengthens the partnership and contributes to overall economic progress.
