In 2017, the output of livestock products amounted to 21.076 trillion soums, showing an increase of 4.2 compared to the corresponding period of 2016.
Growth in agricultural production in 2017 amounted to 1.9 percent compared to 2016. In 2017, the total volume of agriculture, forestry and fishery products (services) was 69.504 trillion soums, or 102 percent to the corresponding period of 2016.
The share of livestock production in the total agricultural production amounted to 31 percent.
In 2017, all categories of farms produced 2.281 million tons of meat in live weight (5 percent more than in 2016), 10.083 million tons of milk (an increase of 3.9 percent), 6.605 billion eggs ( an increase of 7.4 percent), 1.09 million pieces of karakul pelts (an increase of 3.3 percent).
As of Jan. 1, 2018, the total number of cattle reached 12.415 million, including cows - 4.418 million, sheep and goats - 20.680 million and birds - 71,343 million.
In 2017, the number of cattle increased in all categories of farms by1.9 percent up to 233,300 cattle, including cows - by 4.8 percent (201,000 cows), sheep and goats - by 5 percent (982,600 ), birds - 6.4 percent (4.305 million).
