Loans to physical persons increase in Kazakhstan

The assets of the second tier banks of Kazakhstan as of July 1, 2019 amounted to 25.350 trillion tenge, which is 0.4 percent more than in the beginning of the year, Trend reports with reference to the data of the National Bank of Kazakhstan.

“The major part of the assets accounts for loans portfolio (49.1 percent) worth 13.647 trillion tenge, which is 0.8 percent less than during the beginning of the year,” the report said.

“In turn, the loans to legal persons exceeded 3.780 trillion tenge (27.7 percent of loans portfolio), which is 3.8 percent less than in the beginning of the year,” the data said.

Furthermore, the loans to physical persons exceeded 5.523 trillion tenge during the reporting period (40.5 percent of total portfolio), which is 10.6 percent more than in the beginning of the year.

Consumer loans amounted to 3.837 trillion tenge (28.1 percent) of loans portfolio, which is 9.3 percent more than in the beginning of the year.

Loans of small and medium entities amounted to 4.029 trillion tenge (29.5 percent), which is 11.8 percent less than in the beginning of the year.

The value of nonperforming loans 90 days past due equaled 1.280 trillion tenge (9.4 percent) compared to 1.016 trillion tenge in the beginning of the year.

The loan loss provision stood at 2.257 trillion tenge (16.5 percent) compared to 1.777 trillion tenge in the beginning of the year.
