Iran boosts its exports via Jolfa County

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 7

The exports via the customs of Jolfa County in East Azerbaijan Province (northwestern Iran) increased by 35 percent in terms of value and 13 percent in terms of volume during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, Head of Jolfa County Customs Office Mohammad Khalili told journalists, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Khalili noted that 109,000 tons of goods worth $209 million were exported through the customs of Jolfa County over the reporting period.

He added that these goods were exported to Azerbaijan, Eurasian Economic Union member countries and Iraq.

The official stressed that the exported goods were mainly greens, food products, oil and petrochemicals products, and rubber products.

According to him, furthermore, 145,000 tons of goods worth $305 million were imported through Jolfa customs within 8 months.

Khalili said that the revenues of Jolfa customs office for the eight months amounted to 1.95 trillion rials (about $46.4 million), which is an increase of 7 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
