BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 8

By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:

Kazakhstan’s YDD Corporation ferroalloy plant has expanded the export geography by 15 countries since the beginning of 2020, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan's Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.

Thus, the plant is currently exporting its goods to 37 countries worldwide. The main countries which buy the products of the plant are Japan. South Korea, the US, countries of Europe, and so on.

Currently, the plant is in the process of launching the third furnace for the production of high-quality ferrosilicon. The capacity of the third furnace is 85.5 MVA; with its commissioning, the total production capacity of the ferroalloy plant will increase by 30 percent and will amount to 180,000 tons per year.

Regardless of the situation around the world, the start-up of the furnace took place according to the planned schedule. It was possible to maintain the current production volumes during the COVID-19 pandemic due to the fact that the company created all the necessary conditions for the transition from a shift work schedule to a rotational method.

The YDD Corporation LLP plant was launched in July 2019. The share of the local content of the project is over 95 percent. The main activity of the enterprise is the production of high-quality, high-quality ferrosilicon (FeSi75), which is used in the smelting and alloying of steel, cast iron alloys - to improve the mechanical and corrosion resistance of metals.

Ferrosilicon is used in industrial and civil construction, shipbuilding, aviation, automobile construction, etc. The production capacity of the plant is 180,000 tons of products per year.

In light of the accelerated development and digitalization of the global industry, the YDD Corporation LLP is indicative in the field of metallurgy both in the CIS and in the world.
