TEHRAN, Iran, Dec. 10

Trend:

Iran has supplied over 800 mcm of gas during the last Iranian year (started on March 21, 2019, ended on March 20, 2020) on a daily basis, and this figure is expected to reach 840 mcm in the current Iranian year (ends on March 21, 2021), National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Dispatching Director Mehdi Jamshidi Dana said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

“With the onset of the cold season and the increase in gas consumption in the country, the amount of natural gas consumption has often been more than production,” Jamshidi Dana said.

He expressed hope that the consumption of natural gas will be optimized and balanced with the strategy of National Iranian Gas Company in the field of domestic and commercial consumption.

“The domestic and commercial gas consumption in recent days reached 530 mcm per day, which is predicted to be over than 600 mcm per day in peak winter consumption days,” he said.

He has also announced the increase in natural gas production in South Pars refineries.

He went on to say that in order to provide the desired services, over 400 repairs in the pipelines and technical inspection of 69 gas pressure boosting stations have been done in the first seven months of the current Iranian year (started on March 20).
