Foreign trade balance between Azerbaijan and Vietnam becomes positive

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 17

The export of goods from Azerbaijan to Vietnam in total terms amounted to $133.2 million from January through October 2020, which demonstrates a 2.2-fold increase compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to the statistics bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

Azerbaijan's export operations with Vietnam were estimated at $58.7 million in 2019.

Thus, the share of Vietnam in the total export of Azerbaijan reached 1.09 percent compared to 0.35 percent in 2019.

However, by early November 2020, import of Vietnamese products to Azerbaijan decreased from $69.6 million to $66 million (5.2 percent) for the year.

The share of Vietnam in Azerbaijan's total import amounted to 0.75 percent of the total volume, which is by 0.14 percentage points more than in the same period of last year.

The volume of foreign trade operations between the two countries amounted to $199.2 million, which is by 55.2 percent more compared to the same period of last year.

The foreign trade balance of the two countries for the reporting period became positive, amounting to $67.1 million.

In general, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to more than $21 billion from January through October 2020, which is by 25.7 percent less than in the same period of 2019.
