Georgia imported 6,219.5 tons of sunflower seeds worth $4.3 million and 33,946.6 tons of sunflower oil worth $30.5 million from January through October of this year, Trend reports with reference to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
As for the countries from which Georgia imports crushed or unripe sunflower seeds, in 10 months of 2020, imports were carried out, with Russia and Ukraine being the main import markets:
1. Russia - $2.4 million, 2,686.3 tons;
2. Ukraine - $1.8 million, 3,388.7 tons;
3. China - $28,100, 21 tons;
4. Bulgaria - $26,500, 22 tons;
5. Turkey - $8,600, 1 ton;
As for the import of sunflower oil, in this case, according to official statistics, Russia, Azerbaijan and Ukraine are in the TOP-3 of imported sunflower oil markets.
1. Russia - $27.1 million, 30,468.6 tons;
2. Azerbaijan - $1.9 million, 1,913.1 tons;
3. Ukraine - $1.3 million, 1,383.5 tons;
4. Turkey - $193,900, 152.5 tons;
5. Italy - $29,600, 17.3 tons;
