TEHRAN, Iran, November 1. Iran is planning to develop the agriculture sector by targeting export, financial support, marketing network, and food security, said the chairman of the Agriculture Commission in the Iran Chamber of Commerce Mohsen Amiri, Trend reports citing ILNA.
Speaking at the 1st Agricultural and Food Commerce Conference in Tehran, Amiri underlined the role of agriculture in economic growth and promoting non-oil export.
Amiri pointed out that the targeted export of agricultural products is a strategic solution that requires policy-making for foreign trade and good-quality production.
He stressed the necessity to improve logistic infrastructures for transporting export, reforming customs processes, and accelerating the assessment of agricultural commodities in addition to sending economic consultants to other countries to increase export.
According to the official, preventing the raw sale of products and supporting value-added commodities would help develop export.
