Minister for economic development invited to a meeting with Kuwaiti businessmen

The Ministry for Economic Development hosted a meeting with the First Deputy Minister for Information of Kuwait, Sheik Feysal Al-Malik al-Sabakh, the Ministry told Trend. During the meeting the Azerbaijani Minister for Economic Development, Heydar Babayev, informed the guest about the economic reforms held in the country and their positive results.

In 2005 the GD increased 26.4% and the growth pace will be maintained in 2006. in the first quarter of 2006 the real growth of GDP made up 39.5%.

The development of non-oil sector is the major priority of Azerbaijan and international cooperation assumes special importance in this respect, the Minister underlined

Kuwait possesses advanced practice in the petro-chemistry and oil and gas economy. There are opportunities for cooperation in this sphere, as well as refinery of agriculture products, Babayev spoke about available condition in Azerbaijan for investing. He invited the Kuwaiti businessmen to intensify cooperation.

The Kuwaiti guest announced on his countrys tremendous interests in the Azerbaijani economy and invited the Minister to a meeting with Kuwaiti businessmen, which will be favorable for the development of bilateral economic relationships. The Kuwaiti Deputy also shares his pleasant impression of his first visit to Azerbaijan.
