SOCAR announces forecasts on oil and gas production in Azerbaijan for 2014

Azerbaijan is expected to produce around 41.2 million tonnes of oil and 28.8 billion cubic meters of gas in 2014, Rahman Gurbanov, the Vice-President of the country's State Oil Company (SOCAR) for oil and gas production and transportation said.

He made the remarks on June 5 at the 21st International Caspian Oil and Gas-2014 Conference held in Baku.

The forecasts say that the production volume of SOCAR's own oil will make 8.4 million tonnes, while gas production will be equal to seven billion cubic meters in 2014, Gurbanov stressed.

The volume of oil and associated gas production at the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) oil and gas fields' block is expected to hit 30.6 million tonnes and 12.4 billion cubic meters, respectively.

It is planned to produce 9.4 billion cubic meters of gas and 2.3 million tonnes of condensates at the Shah Deniz gas condensate field in 2014.

Azerbaijan produced around 43.5 million tonnes of oil and 29.5 billion cubic meters of gas in 2013, while SOCAR produced 8.3 million tonnes of oil and 7.1 billion cubic meters of gas in the same year.

Some 32.7 million tonnes of oil and 12.5 billion cubic meters of gas was produced at the ACG field in 2013, while the volume of gas and condensates production at the Shah Deniz field, were equal to 9.8 billion cubic meters and 2.5 million tonnes, respectively.
