Gulf Drilling Azerbaijan, a branch of the Gulf Drilling Supply FZE service company (UAE), launched drilling operations at two fields, a source in the company told Trend Oct. 4.
The drilling operations started at the Buzovna-Mashtaga oil field, where the company will drill a production well, according to the source. The field is located 20 kilometers away from Baku in the north-east of the Absheron Peninsula.
Drilling operations also started at the Galmaz gas field [located in the northeast of the Kura Basin]. The company noted that next year it is planned to begin drilling in Georgia.
The Gulf Drilling Supply FZE company was established in 2007. The Azerbaijani branch of the company started its activity in the same year.
