By Fakhri Vakilov –Trend:

Uzbekneftegaz disclosed detailed data on the production of natural gas in Uzbekistan for the first time, Trend reports citing Podrobno.uz.

"Until recently, information on hydrocarbon production was considered confidential information. Now we are revealing it. About 61 billion cubic meters per year are produced in the country, in accordance with gas balance, of which 35-40 billion cubic meters are belong to Uzbekneftegaz," the chairman of the board of Uzbekneftegaz Bahodirjon Sidikov said.

He noted that that the 35-40 billion cubic meters indicator, is the difference between the gas that is produced and that used in various technological processes to increase oil production.

He added that in accordance with the the recent decree of the head of state on reforming the oil and gas industry, Uzbekneftegaz should increase natural gas production to 42.3 billion cubic meters.

"As the production of Uzbekneftegaz is 35 billion cubic meters, the increase should be 7.3 billion cubic meters. Generally, the gas demand in Uzbekistan is approximately 39 billion cubic meters, taking into account that half of our customers have been converted to liquefied gas, "he stressed.

Sidikov stated that now the main task is to reach the level of 42.3 billion cubic meters, which will completely cover the domestic demand, so the issue of sale of natural gas produced in other projects to the domestic market will not be raised again.
