Well No. 32 of the Iran-Iraq joint Dehloran oil field (this field is called Abu Ghraib in Iraq), has been returned to production, said Saeed Naseripour, Managing of Director Iran's West Oil & Gas Production Company (WOGPC), Trend reports citing the company’s official website.
According to Naseripour, production of the well was suspended for a year.
Naseripour added that the well’s operation was suspended due to well sediment and a decrease in water pressure. However, as part of operations carried out by the company's technical department, the well was restored last winter.
The official said that as the Dehloran field is a joint oil field, production from this field is more important.
"This Iranian year, the company will continue to plan to protect oil and gas production," he said.
The Dehloran oil field is located 180 km south of Kermanshah city and 22 km southwest of Dehloran county. The Dehloran field was discovered in 1972. The field produces 25,000 barrels of oil per day.
