BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jun. 5

By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

The burning of flare gas and gas pollutants in Iran will be reduced by about 70 percent over the next three years, an official of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Gholamreza Bahmannia told Shana News Agency, Trend reports.

In addition, 5-7-year long-term programs have been prepared to prevent the spread of gas pollutants into the environment, he said.

According to Bahmannia, the spread of about 180 million tons of pollutants into the environment was prevented in Iran over the last Iranian year in Iran (from March 20, 2020, through March 20, 2021).

The official noted that the companies operating under the auspices of the Ministry of Petroleum of Iran are taking steps in the direction to protect the environment.

"The NIGC systematically monitors the issue of environmental protection. So, the company minimizes the negative aspects of operational and industrial processes by researching during gas supply," he said.
