Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR imported 10,200 tons of diesel fuel produced by Rosneft to Ukraine in May 2021, Trend reports citing Ukrainian media.
Reportedly, the import of diesel fuel to Ukraine decreased by 17 percent in May 2021 compared to the same period in 2020 and stood at 475,200 tons.
Diesel fuel supplies from the Russian Federation fell by around 2.3 times, to 115,000 tons, of which 103,800 tons were imported by rail (a 38 percent increase as compared to May 2020). Another 10,200 tons of diesel fuel produced by Rosneft was shipped by SOCAR through the terminal in Gomel.
Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR’s representative office opened in Ukraine in 2008.
The company acquired about 20 Tala-Nafta filling stations in Odessa and Nikolaev regions. as well as Svitanok large oil depot in Odessa region in 2009.
The company took control of the fuelling networks ONIO (four filling stations in Kyiv and the region) and GFC (in Lviv region) in 2010-2011. SOCAR received permission from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to purchase 26 filling stations and one tank farm of the Kalina group in August 2012.
