Iran’s East Oil & Gas Production Company puts new well into operation

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 31

Well No. 75 of the Khangiran gas field of Iran’s East Oil and Gas Production Company (EGPC) in Razavi Khorasan Province (north-eastern Iran) has been put into operation, the company's Technical Director Mohammad Reza Soltani said, Trend reports via Iranian Central Oil Fields Company’s website.

According to the director, the well was put into operation to maintain production from the field and can produce 1.3 million cubic meters of gas daily.

Soltani added that about $9 million and 150 billion rials (about $3.57 million) has been spent on drilling the well and related work.

“In order to maintain production from Khangiran field, several wells are planned to be drilled in the Mozdoran reservoir of the field,” he said.

As reported, the East Oil and Gas Production Company is operating under the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC). The company works the Khangiran and Gunbadli gas fields. The company extracts 62 million cubic meters of gas per day. The Khangiran gas field has 480 billion cubic meters of gas reserves. About 17 million cubic meters of gas are extracted daily from this field.
