Liquid cargo transportation in Georgia was up 11.8 percent year-on-year in terms of value ($21.9 million) in the first half of 2019, Trend reports via Galt&Taggart investment company.
Oil products transportation declined in terms of volume by 4.6 percent year-on-year during the reporting period.
Dry cargo transportation, unlike liquid cargo, increased in both in terms of volume and value. Revenues from dry cargo transportation increased 18.1 percent year-on-year and amounted to $32.1 million, while transported volumes grew by 6.8 percent year-on-year.
A 69.9 percent year-on-year growth in revenues from sugar transportation contributed most to the overall growth.
Ores transportation was up 14.4 percent year-on-year to $6.6 million in 1H2019.
Construction and industrial freight transportation was up 30.5 percent year-on-year to $1.7 million and 15 percent year-on-year to $1.3 million, respectively.
Cement transportation was up 16.3 percent year-on-year to $0.4 million. Grain and ferrous metals transportation were the only products declining in 1H2019, down 56.5 percent year-on-year to $0.9 million and 10 percent year-on-year to $1.6 million, respectively.
