BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 10
Trend:
According to preliminary data, international reserves amounted to $36.8 billion by the end of August 2021, having increased by $1.8 billion over the month, Trend reports via the National Bank.
The increase in reserves was mainly due to the freely convertible currency assets, which increased by $1.7 billion. The significant increase is due to the receipt of special drawing rights (SDR) from the International Monetary Fund in the amount of $1.6 billion.
Despite the gold price declined by 0.8 percent, to $1,814 per ounce, the growth of the gold portfolio provided additional support for the reserves for $134 million due to the acquisition of gold as part of the implementation of the priority right.
