Georgia sees record increase in online transactions

A total of 6.95 million transactions, worth 444.09 million lari ($134.8 million) were made by Georgian's residents online during November 2020, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

The figure is 38 percent up, as compared to October 2020.

According to the NBG, number of transactions reached 6.95 million, 444.09 million lari ($134.8 million) during November 2020, up from 5.03 million transactions, 335.47 million lari ($101.8 million) as of October 2020.

As for year-on-year comparison, in November 2020, the number of online transactions has shown 64 percent growth in comparison with November 2019, when the figure stood at 4.24 million, worth 299.16 million lari ($90.8 million).

The highest, or over 6 million number of transactions have been first fixed in July 2020, reaching 6.17 million transactions, 394.84 million lar ($119.8 million). The growth has also been witnessed during August 2020, 6.48 million units, worth 429.55 million lari ($130.4 million).
