BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 29. Kazakhstan transported 8.8 million tons of wheat via railways from January through November 2022, Trend reports, citing the Central Communications Service under the President.
This constitutes a 9 percent increase compared to 11M2021.
This year, the grain transportation industry experienced a temporary increase in loadings, which was caused by the lifting of restrictions on grain exports and the difference in the amount of grain hopper rentals provided by various companies operating in the market.
Currently, there are is more than 10.5 thousand units of grain hopper wagons in Kazakhstan, including 4,750 units owned by Astyk Trans JSC. The existing fleet is able to fully meet the current needs of shippers.
Astyk Trans JSC provides 98 percent of intrastate transportation of grain.
