ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 4. Kazakhstan's railway transport handled over 6.3 million tons of fuel, diesel fuel, and liquified natural gas from January through July 2023, Trend reports.

As noted by the Kazakhstan Railways, in the reporting period, gas transportation increased by 13 percent.

Despite the flawless execution of the petroleum cargo loading strategy, several external variables have made attaining seamless and uninterrupted transportation difficult. Maintenance shutdowns at several oil refineries, in particular, have hampered the regular flow of operations.

Thanks to the round-the-clock work of the operational headquarters of Kazakhstan Railways, with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Energy, KazMunayGas national oil company, refineries and private rail car operators, the efficiency and stability of the supply of petroleum products is ensured.

Daily meetings are conducted at the headquarters to monitor the progress of loaded and empty railcars. Individual dispatchers are assigned to monitor the movement of cars, optimizing the rotation of rolling stock, and enhancing the efficiency of rail stations through strategic routing of shipments.

The transportation of petroleum products and gas is facilitated by specialized tank cars operated by private railcar operators. Across Kazakhstan, there are a total of 16,500 specialized tank cars.
