Kazakhstan's National Bank reveals inflation trends in regions in October

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 21. Annual inflation in Kazakhstan slowed down, amounting to 10.8 percent in October (in September, 11.8 percent), and it slowed in all 20 regions, Trend reports.

At the same time, monthly inflation in the country during the reporting period amounted to 0.7 percent.

According to Kazakhstan's National Bank, the highest values of annual inflation were recorded in the Akmola, North Kazakhstan, and Zhetysu regions.

Prices for food products in October slowed to 10.4 percent year over year (in September, -11.4 percent). The maximum increase in prices for goods in this group occurred in the Ulytau region (14.2 percent), and the minimum in Shymkent (7.6 percent).

The rate of growth in prices for non-food products slowed to 11.1 percent year over year (in September, 12.1 percent). The maximum value was recorded in Almaty (12.9 percent), and the minimum was recorded in the Ulytau region (8.1 percent).

Prices for paid services in October slowed down to 11.0 percent y-o-y (in September, 11.9 percent), while prices rose significantly above the national level in the Turkestan region (15.6 percent) and significantly lower in Astana (7.8 percent).
