BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 30. Kyrgyzstan recorded a decrease in sugar prices as of the end of July 2022, Trend reports with reference to the Antimonopoly Regulation Service of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the agency, leading sugar producer in Kyrgyzstan, Kaindy Kant OJSC and Koshoy sugar factory, have reduced the wholesale selling price from 86 soums ($1.03) to 83 soums ($0.99) per kg.
Moreover, Indian sugar suppliers also agreed to reduce the wholesale price from 81 soums ($0.97) to 77 soums ($0.92) per kg.
"Sugar in Kyrgyzstan is currently sold at a reduced price of 79 soums/kg ($0.95), with a limit of 1 kg per hand once a day, while over the allowed volume sugar is sold at 85 soum/kg ($1)," the Antimonopoly Regulation Service reports.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan has the lowest sugar prices among the neighboring countries. For example, as of end of July prices for sugar per 1 kg in Uzbekistan are 102 soums ($1.22), Tajikistan - 112 soums ($1.34), Kazakhstan 136 soums - ($1.63).
