Kyrgyzstan increases electricity generation

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. Kyrgyzstan's electricity generation increased from January through July 2022, Trend reports citing the National Statistical Committee.

According to statistics, Kyrgyzstan in seven months of 2022 generated electricity worth 20.6 billion soms ($251.3 million), which is an increase of 11.9 percent compared to the same period of last year (18.4 billion soms, or $224.6 million).

Meanwhile, the total value of Kyrgyzstan's industrial production in the reporting period amounted to 227.4 billion soms ($2.7 billion).

Overall, in 2021, Kyrgyzstan produced electricity in the amount of 32.3 billion soms ($393.4 million)

By September 2022, Kyrgyzstan intends to complete one of the most important priority energy reform stages, which requires restructuring the country's energy sector management system through the consolidation of energy companies.
