Import of parts at UzXCMG joint venture in Uzbekistan will be replaced by local production, thus localization of the production at the enterprise will reach 51 percent in 2021, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the president of Uzbekistan.
According to the information, UzXCMG JV, which started its activities in 2014, will further develop in three stages. At the first stage, it is planned to establish a large-unit assembly of agricultural machinery, at the second - its industrial assembly, the third phase provides for the localization of production.
For this purpose, assembly lines and equipment of XCMG Chinese Corporation worth $4.3 million have been imported this year.
“Energy-saving technologies will reduce costs and increase the competitiveness of products,” the message said.
The head of state examined the assembly and welding equipment installed at the enterprise, localized equipment and spare parts.
“The plant has a great potential. But we are not using it to the fullest. Therefore, it is necessary to deeply analyze what other products can be produced here, what equipment will need to be purchased from abroad in the coming years, ordered and established cooperation. The plant should develop and become a base for the industry in Khorezm region,” the head of state said.
The UzXCMG joint venture was established by the Chinese company Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group Co., Ltd. (XCMG) and Uzbekistan Railways.
