Uzbekistan expects energy demand to double by 2030, as a result of the acceleration of reforms, the development of industry, and growth of the population, Trend reports citing the Uzbek Media Outlets.
Due to this, it is planned to increase the energy efficiency of the economic and social sectors of the country, as well as the widespread introduction of renewable energy sources.
In 2022, Uzbek authorities plan to sign a project agreement for the construction of a wind power plant with a capacity of 1,700 MW in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (Uzbekistan).
In addition, it is planned to develop a program for the systematic organization of the use of renewable energy sources in the sectors of the economy, at social facilities, and in the residential premises of Karakalpakstan.
