BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 7. Georgia's exports of knitted goods to Turkey from January through February 2022 totaled $13 million, which is an increase of 56.6 percent, compared to $8.3 million over the same period of 2021, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office (Geostat).

The volume of the exported production in the reporting period of 2022 also increased by 36.5 percent, compared to the the same period of 2020 - from 282 tons to 385 tons.

Georgia’s exports of male clothes to Turkey over the reporting period of 2022 also increased by 52.1 percent to $7 million, compared to $4.6 million over the same period of 2021. The volume of male clothes exported from Georgia to Turkey from January through February 2022 also increased by 43.3 percent to 268 tons, compared to 187 tons over the same period of 2021.

Meanwhile, Georgia imported 429 tons of textiles, including dress patterns, from Turkey over the reporting period of 2022, worth $8.3 million.

The value increased by 1.2 percent, compared to $8.2 million worth of textile (323 tons) imported over the same period of 2021, while the volume increased by 32.8 percent.

Georgia’s trade turnover with Turkey from January through February 2022 amounted to $354.3 million, which is an increase of 42.5 percent, compared to $248.5 million over the same period of 2021.
