France, Strasbourg, Feb. 2 / Trend , A.Maharramli/ U.S. may refuse to build a radar base in the Czech Republic.
Senate foreign affairs committee chairman Jiri Dientsbier believes the U.S. may never build a radar base in the Czech Republic.
Speaking on the Czech TV, he said the global financial crisis can make a good cause for abandoning the project.
" U.S. will not work over this project in the near future," said the Senator.
According to Zbigniew Kazimierz Brzezinski, who served as U.S. National Security Advisor to President Jimmy Carter from 1977 to 1981, building the radar base in Czech Republic is not a foreground task for U.S.
Opinion polls have consistently suggested that around two thirds of Czechs are opposed to the planned radar base. Prague and Washington have signed treaties on the radar, though the lower house of the Czech Parliament has not yet voted on the matter.
