German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier will visit the United States this week for talks with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, a foreign ministry spokesman said Monday.
The spokesman said the minister was due to fly to Washington on Monday evening and meet with Clinton on Tuesday for talks "on a broad range of trans-Atlantic issues."
Steinmeier and Clinton arranged the meeting during a telephone conversation two weeks ago, shortly after Clinton took up her post in the new administration of President Barack Obama, reported dpa.
