For the first time after Mumbai attacks, India and Pakistan will talk water-related issues in New Delhi from May 30 to June 3, a report by Mumbai-based Daily News and Analysis said Saturday.
Foreign office sources in Islamabad told the paper that a high- level Pakistani delegation led by water commissioner Jamaat Ali Shah would leave for India on a five-day visit on May 30, according to the report.
The Indian delegation will be led by water commissioner G. Ranganathan, Xinhua reported.
Pakistan is likely to raise the issue of "stoppage of water from river Chenab in 2008", besides demanding compensation for the "water loss Pakistan has suffered" due to the issue, according to the report.
