Azerbaijani athlete Valentin Demyanenko has reached the finals of European Games in the men's 200 meters canoe sprint.
He took first place in the qualification round with a finish of 38.978 seconds.
Portuguese Silva Helder (39.248 seconds) and Hungarian Jonatan Hajdu (39.315 seconds) also reached the finals.
The finals will be held June 16 at 3:15 p.m. (GMT + 5 hours).
The European Games kicked off in Baku June 12 and will last till June 28.
There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
