Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend D.Khatinoglu / A demand by the Managing Board of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on the application of tougher sanctions with respect to Iran is linked with the statistics mentioned by the Iranian President in his statement encountering the IAEA report.
This irrelevance makes the application of the UN sanctioning of the third resolution with respect to Iran inevitable, Hamid Tagvaee, an Iranian political expert operating in Canada, and also the Chairman of the Worker-Communist Party, said.
During the meeting of the Managing Council of IAEA on 11-12 September, Muhammad al-Baradei accused Iran of continuing its enrichment of uranium. Some 2,000 nuclear centrifuges operate at the atomic power station Natanz of Iran and the process of uranium will take a long time to complete.
Meanwhile, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that there are 3,000 centrifuges in Iran and several new cascades are created every week. These reports caused suspicions in pubic with respect to the IAEA report.
Ahmedijad made the IAEA report as a result of UN suspicious, Tagvaee said in a telephone conversation with Trend from Vancouver.
Despite the disagreement between the European countries and the United States on the Iranian issue, they hold solidarity on one issue - the UN Security Council should apply the third resolution with respect to Iran.
Iran has faced serious problems on an international level and is mostly linked not with the foreign forces, but contradictory policy pursued within the country.
" Iran promised the IAEA to provide transparency and exact data on its nuclear program. Iran submitted the agency data on the operation of 2,000 nuclear centrifuges. On the other hand, the head of state said that 3,000 centrifuges function at the station. So, there are contradictions in the statistics mentioned by al-Baradi,' the party leader added.
The political expert drew attention to the silence of Russia and China on the application of the third resolution. "Now the Iranian nuclear program is in the background. Some incontestable facts and proofs demonstrating Iran's participation in terrorist attacks in Iraq and the armament of Shiite terrorist attacks have been found. This is the major reason for the necessity of implementing the UN Security Council's Third Resolution,' the political expert stressed.
